Wales Animal Clinic Team understand the special role your pet plays in your family. We are Family Owned and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.

  • Joshua W. Stewart, DVM


    Dr. Joshua Stewart purchased the Wales Animal Clinic in 2003.  Originally from the New England area, Dr. Stewart has been living in Wisconsin since 1992.

    Although all aspects of veterinary medicine are challenging and enjoyable, Dr. Stewart especially enjoys internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.

    Dr. Stewart currently lives in Dousman with his wife Kathryn and their four children Abraham, Josiah, Gideon and Micah.  Outside of the clinic he enjoys working with his church, coaching football and lacrosse, playing music, spending time outdoors and downhill skiing.

  • Marjorie McCarthy, DVM


    Dr. Marjorie McCarthy joined Wales Animal Clinic in Fall of 2005.  Dr.  McCarthy is a 1991 graduate of veterinary medicine.  She is originally from Park Ridge, IL and moved to Milwaukee in 1995.  

    Dr. McCarthy especially enjoys surgery and feline medicine.  She has volunteered at several animal welfare organizations and was involved in the animal relief efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  Previously, Dr McCarthy worked in Small Animal Practice as well as Emergency Animal Practice.

    In her spare time, Dr. McCarthy enjoys photography, watercolor, painting, and cross-country skiing.  Currently she resides in Wauwatosa with her husband, John and her cat named Noah

  • Michael D. Aushwitz, DVM


    Dr. Michael Aushwitz joined Wales Animal Clinic in Fall of 2019. 

    Dr. Mike has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for 25 years.  He is from the Waukesha area and attended UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1994.  He practiced at Kuenzi Family Pet Hospital from 1994-2016; he started as an associate and worked to become a Partner/Owner in 1999 for 13 years.  He continued to work for Vetcor even after the practice was sold in 2012 until 2016.  He then practice at Lake Geneva Animal Hospital for 1 year.  From 2017-2019 he pursued another path and Dr. Mike served as an Adjunct Instructor at Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn for the Veterinary Science Program where he used his career of experience to teach. 

    Dr. Mike’s professional interests include canine and feline internal medicine, clinical pathology, and ultrasound. 

    Dr. Mike is married to Sandy and has a daughter Charlotte.  He enjoys spending time outdoors at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin and is an avid fisherman especially for muskies.

    Practice Manager

    Patti joined Wales Animal Clinic fall of 2003 when the clinic was opened by Dr. Stewart. As Practice Manager she uses her accounting degree and is responsible for the clinic accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and inventory. She serves on the State Board for  Wisconsin Veterinary Practice Managers Association as Treasurer.  At the Clinic she oversees employees and assists the veterinarians as needed. Large Animal experience for Patti began with her husband on a Wisconsin dairy farm where her three boys showed Holstein, Guernsey, and Brown Swiss Cattle at county, state, and national shows. She learned firsthand how vital veterinary medicine was keeping the herd healthy. Patti embraced the transition to Small Animal medicine and now enjoys sharing a lifetime of animal memories and new discoveries. Outside work Patti loves hearing from her oldest son, a Equipment & Packaging Project Manager at a leading Chemical Company and his wife, a Special Education Middle School Teacher, her middle son a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer working with Off Highway Emission Solutions, and the youngest  a Key Account Sales Engineer working with Thermal Systems and Process Equipment.  She is passionate about her family, friends, neighbors, Watertown Wrestling, Wisconsin Badgers Football, walking, UTV trail riding, biking, camping and music.

  • Amanda

    Lead Certified Veterinary Technician

    Amanda joined Wales Animal Clinic in the summer of 2015. Amanda is a Madison College graduate with a degree in Applied Science, Veterinary Technology and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. Amanda has had a passion for animals since a young age. As a child she enjoyed taking care of her two horses as well as her family Black Lab and Brittany Spaniels. She currently has a Pit Bull mix named Iver who is missing his left front leg, a Great Dane/American Bulldog named Flora, and a cat named Kyle. Amanda, her husband Mitchell, son Wesley and their dogs love to be outdoors. In their spare time they like to go hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing. They also enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.

    Veterinary Receptionist

    Anne Catt joined Wales Animal Clinic in July of 2016. Growing up on a farm in South Dakota helped instill in her a love of animals of all shapes and sizes. She moved to Wisconsin in 1995 and started working in the veterinary field in 2001. Sharing in her love of animals is her husband, Will. The Catt family consists of 5 cats, three males and 2 females...Zachary, Shyanne, Sam, Maple and Billy. In what little spare time she has, Anne enjoys going to thrift stores with her hubby and hanging out with her fellow animal-loving friends sharing fur baby stories. Otherwise her greatest pleasure is sitting at home spending quality time with her "furry children".

    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Deanna joined Wales Animal Clinic in Spring of 2018. She was engaged with animals with her family’s very first dog when this girl was a youngster and her first occupation being employed at a boarding and daycare facility for dogs, cats and birds. In the time being, she has only become more knowledgeable about animals and the field of veterinary medicine. In 2013 Deanna graduated Milwaukee Career College as a Certified Veterinary Assistant and has been working in clinics since then. She is keen on getting to be familiar with the patients and clients here at WAC. Deanna accompanies her pooch Noodle who is a bouncy Australian Shepherd. During her free time she adores traveling, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, and kayaking with friends and family.

  • Anna

    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Anna joined Wales Animal Clinic in July of 2019. She graduated in 2009 from UW-Green Bay with a degree in Biology and has been working with animals ever since. Anna began her work in wildlife rehabilitation, then moved to domestic care at doggy daycare and pet boarding facilities. She spent the last 5 years working at an animal shelter, and has now decided to learn more about veterinary work. When she's not working, Anna enjoys fostering animals for the local shelters, volunteering at the wildlife center, watching sports, hiking, biking, and traveling.
